Week 17 Preview and Picks
Week Seventeen Preview and Predictions in the National
Football League
With great fanfare, the final week of the NFL is finally here.
Without a doubt, this has been one of the most historic seasons
ever to take place in the league. With so much riding on the line,
now is the perfect time to check out our predictions on NFL football
picks.
The first NFL matchup we will preview features the Jacksonville
Jaguars at the Houston Texans. The Jags come into the Lone Star
state on a roll, having won four out of their last five games. Jacksonville
clinched a playoff birth this past week with a 49-11 stomping of
the Oakland Raiders. Wise sports betting are on the Jaguars as many
hail them as the team New England needs to watch out for. Look for
Jacksonville to dismantle the Texans by much more than the 6.5 point
spread.
Another interesting game is Tennessee vs. the world champion Indianapolis
Colts. In what has been somewhat of a disappointing year for Titans
quarterback Vince Young, Tennessee still has a chance of sliding
into an AFC wildcard spot ... one last chance. With Cleveland nearly
fumbling their playoff hopes, the Titans now control their own destiny.
Unfortunately, their road to the post season is one that must go
through the champs. While the Colts have been overshadowed by New
England’s dominance, Indianapolis remains a force to be reckoned
with. The odds are not in the Titan’s favor, but look for
this one to be competitive game - one that may come down to the
final drive.
Our next free sports pick is another game with major playoff implication.
The Redskins remain alive in the playoff hunt, hosting the NFC leading
Dallas Cowboys. This NFL season has been an emotional one for Washington.
The team’s morale seemed to be low after the loss of their
safety Shawn Taylor, which was subsequently followed by a devastating
loss against the Bills. Since then, the Redskins have won three
straight games with tons of momentum on their side. On the other
hand, the Dallas Cowboys truly have nothing else to play for as
they have already clinched home field advantage throughout the NFC.
Even with their current status and the fact that superstar wide
receiver, Terrell Owens, is unlikely to play this Sunday, the predictions
point towards Dallas as 8.5 point victors against the spread.
The final matchup of weekly NFL picks is one that has history written
all over it. The New England Patriots have the opportunity to become
the first team to go undefeated since the inception of the 16 game
season. The New York Giants are the only thing standing in their
way of perfection. This will certainly be the game to watch as the
Patriots have the opportunity to go down as one of the greatest
teams of all time. Tom Brady is two touchdowns away from surpassing
Peyton Manning’s single season record, while Randy Moss is
merely one away from replacing the single season TD reception record
of the great Jerry Rice. With the way New England has overcome every
obstacle in their path, it is hard to believe that the magic will
end in New York. Last week the Patriots barely covered the spread
with a half point to spare. The Giants are fighting for a better
playoff position, while attempting not to end up on the wrong side
of history. Predictions for the Patriots have been overwhelming,
but this week’s football pick has them favored by 14.5 points.
Many are pulling for New England to remain unblemished, while some
can’t wait for their streak to come to an end. Even with New
York’s solid defense, the Patriots should be one of easiest
selections of week 17 ... this team is just too hot to stop now!
