The most exciting match in the NFC is right up front – Green
Bay at Dallas, Thursday night. At first you might be thinking that
the oddsmakers are being unfair, offering Green Bay a +7 spread.
The Packers have an equal win record with the Cowboys at 10-1 and
even have a better recent ATS record at 9-1-1. Even though both
these teams look pretty individually, the stats show that historically,
Dallas has the advantage in this situation. From the past six games
that Dallas and Green Bay have gone up against each other, Dallas
has beaten the spread all six times, and they beat Green Bay straight
up the past eight times. It seems like the advantage would be to
bet with Dallas giving the spread. Also, in the past 11 match-ups
between Green Bay and Dallas, the total has gone over ten times.
These are still two some of the best teams this season and should
prove to be an interesting game to watch.
New England remains undefeated so far this season, and it doesn’t
look like Baltimore is going to be the team to break that record.
Oddsmakers have New England beating Baltimore by a 21 point spread,
and this is a safe way to bet. Baltimore has only beaten the spread
once in the past five games against New England, and the Patriots
have won against the spread nine times this season. Over/Under is
a little harder to call on this game. New England has been over
six in the past seven games, but in the past six games against Baltimore,
the total has been under five times. Look for New England to easily
cover the spread, and since they look so impressive this season,
most likely go over the total.
Another place you’ll want to put your money is the Cleveland
- Arizona game. The spread on this have Cleveland winning by just
one point, but chances are good they’ll easily cover that.
Cleveland’s at 7-4, which isn’t impressive, but it is
better than Arizona’s 5-6 record. Also, Arizona has only won
against the spread six times this season, while Cleveland has beaten
the spread nine times. You’ll also want to be bet over in
this game, as both teams have a good a record in that department.
Arizona has gone over four out the past five games, and Cleveland
has gone over all but once this entire season.
The Philadelphia Eagles host the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, and
it should prove to be one of the closer match-ups this week. The
Hawks have only a slight statistical advantage with a 7-4 win record,
as opposed to the Eagles’ 5-6 record. Both teams have beaten
the spread six times this season. You should bet that the Seahawks
will beat the spread though. Their advantage comes in light of their
three game winning streak, as well as the fact that Philly has only
beaten the spread against Seattle two out of the last six games.
This one will be close, but I advise for betting that the Seahawks
will beat the spread. As for the game total, going under would be
a statistically wise bet, as Seattle has gone under 6 out of the
past 9 times, and Philadelphia has gone under 5 out of the past
7 home games.
